I grew up receiving acupuncture from a young age. First, when I experienced debilitating knee pain as a very young athlete (age 9), I was able to go up and down the stairs normally thanks to acupuncture. Then, when the difficulties of adolescence reared their head, acupuncture helped me find some stable ground on which I could do the work with a psychotherapist to find resilience. Finally, in my mid-twenties I went off of birth control for the first time in a decade, and acupuncture helped me to find and maintain a consistent menstrual cycle. Acupuncture has been an integral part of my life for so long, and it always will be.
